The Process…

Below is a rundown of what generally working with me is like. Obviously, every client is different and has different needs but this will give you an idea…

Onboarding

The first step is to get to know each other and see if we’ll work well together. I’ll usually schedule a call to get to know you and see what you need from your project. From here, you will provide me with any Pinterest boards, images, copy etc. Plus and details for your hosting and website.

The Legal Bit

This bit sounds scary, but it really isn’t. It’s always best to know what you’re getting yourself in for before you start anything. As with making any investment, you always want to be sure about what you’ll be getting for your money and what to expect at the end. Plus, it’s always good to know that this is more of a collaboration than a service. Making everything clear at the start avoids any nasty surprises later.

Once we’ve agreed on the project and what it involves, you’ll recieve a contract and invoice for the full amount which you can either pay a deposit upfront and the rest later or all together. A minumum payment is needed in order to secure your spot and purchase upfront any licences before I can begin.

Let The Fun Begin

Now that we’ve got the formalities out of the way, it’s time to get to work. By this point, I should have access to any hosting, cPanels, WordPress accounts etc. and a dropbox file will have been created to drop in any images and files you’d like me to include.

From the notes taken on our chat and any previous correspondence, plus from your Pinterest board, I’ll get to work on your logos and visual style guide. From there, you will have two rounds of revisions so that we can get things looking just how you want them.

The Techie Bit

Once everything is agreed upon, it’s time to start building your website. If you don’t already have one, this is the part where I set up hosting, purchase URL’s and install WordPress for you. From here I’ll install all the relevant themes and plugins and create a custom child theme for your site.

Images, logos, and graphics will be readied for upload and any fonts and colour palettes will be included on your site.

The Finishing Touches

We’re on the home stretch. At this stage, you should be happy with your website and branding, we’ll start to put together any social media branding and stationery. Plus, any finishing touches to your site.

Handover

When we’re done and you’re happy with everything, this is the part where we start to close up the project. Final payments will be made and any files will be sent to you for you to use later. We’ll have a final call to go over any training you may need to maintain your site later (don’t worry, I won’t abandon you after this… I’m still on hand if you get stuck) and everything is prepared for your launch. Then you can pop open the prosecco and enjoy your new website.
